Peek Show

A small group of enterprising students took it upon themselves to organise an exhibition of 150 of their colleagues in The Biscuit Factory in Bermondsey, from 6th - 9th May 2011. The nineteenth century building was the inspiration behind the name of the exhibition, referencing the historical entertainment of the  'peep shows' – showing images for a small fee through a small hole or magnifying glass.

This theme informed the graphic language of the posters and invitations that Camberwell Press designed for the exhibition. The posters featured a small hole with photographs behind them, which encouraged passerbys to bend down and peer into these tiny worlds. The invitations could be held up to the eye so that anywhere could temporarily become a Peek Show.

A catalogue was produced as a record of the show, printed in the format of a newspaper by newspaperclub. This was both economical and inkeeping with the nineteenth century theme of the identity.

The identity was designed by Paul Hardman and the publication was designed by Freddy Williams.
